CareerCTO privacy notice

Questpond supplies cohort registration and completion information used to determine whether an email address is eligible to claim a graduate profile. Account creation records include the name, email address, email-verification state, password credential managed by Better Auth, sessions, and security metadata needed to operate the account. CareerCTO does not display roster email addresses publicly.

Graduates may add a headline, biography, location, availability, professional links, education, experience, skills, and projects. A connected GitHub profile can be used to request public contribution data from GitHub. Job records contain employer-supplied role information and application links.

Published profiles, verified completion labels, graduate-selected professional details, projects, and open jobs are public and may be indexed by search engines or read by automated agents. Verification applies only to the Questpond completion records. Account credentials, sessions, roster email addresses, claim tokens, administration data, and unpublished profile changes are not part of the public directory.

CareerCTO uses this information to authenticate people, link eligible graduates to institutional records, operate searchable public listings, publish jobs, prevent abuse, send transactional account messages, investigate errors, and protect the service.

The service uses Railway for application hosting, PostgreSQL for persistence, Better Auth for authentication, Amazon SES for transactional email, and GitHub only when public activity is requested for a connected profile. These providers process information needed to deliver their part of the service. CareerCTO retains records while an account or institutional verification remains active and may retain limited security or audit records when required to protect the service or meet legal obligations.
